Many cultures make your Binghamton education unique:
A Culture of Achievement: You and your fellow students are motivated. You have goals and inspire each other to learn and achieve in an atmosphere that is diverse, egalitarian and engaging. Learning is infectious and fun; you help each other as you compete against an ideal, not your classmates.
Bright students + outstanding faculty = a culture of achievement

A Culture of Leadership: From the first day you arrive at Binghamton, you are encouraged to discover your leadership potential and be effective problem solvers, team players and innovators. You can develop your leadership talents through hundreds of governance roles in student clubs, sports, internships and volunteer activities. Through our XCEL Leadership Center, you can hone your public speaking, conflict resolution and organizing skills.
Involved students + leadership opportunities = a culture of leadership
A Culture of Exploration: You bring more than your brilliance to Binghamton. You are encouraged to pursue your interests, challenge old assumptions and think outside your textbooks. With the faculty as guides, you create knowledge; not just consume it. Chemistry majors perform in the orchestra, art majors take computer studies, math majors act in plays. Whether producing a play, mentoring at-risk kids or building a robotic car…you learn by doing and following your passions.
Passionate students + opportunities to learn = a culture of exploration
A Global Perspective: You’ll thrive in the international perspective that permeates our campus. Nearly one in five students studies abroad or participates in an exchange program. On campus, you can pursue languages like Arabic, Chinese, Russian and Spanish and use them in programs like Languages Across the Curriculum and English Conversation Pairs. Artists from around the world perform on campus, and international studies in all majors prepare you to lead in a global society.
Motivated students + international experiences = a global perspective
