Orientation and Housing
We have a transfer orientation program designed to make your transition to Binghamton as smooth as possible. Before the semester begins, you will have the opportunity to meet faculty, academic advisors, and other transfer students. Academic staff will help you select and register for courses, and you will leave campus with your schedule for the coming semester.
Orientation is a great opportunity to transition to Binghamton and meet new people, so we encourage you to attend. You’ll want to participate in the academic, social, and cultural life of the campus and local community. Transfer students at Binghamton take on leadership roles in the classroom, labs, clubs, off-campus internships, performing arts, and in the more than 200 student organizations.
Housing
On-campus housing is available to transfer students in our residential life communities. In addition, the Off-Campus College (OCC) maintains information on apartments available in the Binghamton area and will be happy to assist you in your search. Rents are often moderate and many apartments are located on or close to a bus line, making it easy to get to campus. Students do not pay to ride the Broome County buses or the student-run Blue Buses. Housing is also available adjacent to campus at the University Plaza, a private all-student apartment complex.
